General Information

CounterPoint Music Festival is an outdoor music festival held at the beautiful property of Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia. CounterPoint is a 3-day rain-or-shine event with camping. CounterPoint 2014 will feature more than 4 stages and a multitude of performers from all over the world.

THIS EVENT IS 18+ ADMISSION ONLY WITH I.D. CHECKED AT GATE. NO VALID I.D. = NO ENTRANCE. Please remember that all vehicles entering the festival site must have a Vehicle Pass.

Event Security and Safety

Event security and safety teams will be located throughout the site for the entire duration of the event. If you have an EMERGENCY, find a staff person with a radio or go to the nearest security station, information booth, medical tent or security personnel. There will be a central security and first aid location inside the concert area.


There will be emergency medical personnel located on-site around the clock. If you need emergency medical attention, find a staff person with a radio, go to an information booth, medical tent or one of our security personnel. The main medical booth is located inside the concert area and will be clearly marked on our event maps.

Those who have special dietary needs may bring food for personal use only into the festival site if accompanied with a doctor’s note. Factory sealed, non-glass, water bottles are also allowed.

Please behave responsibly while you’re at CounterPoint. Event producers are not responsible for attendees actions. Be respectful of your neighbors and friends at the show and help people out if they need it…we’re all in this together!

What to Bring

Everything you’ll need for the concert:

  • Factory sealed water bottles
  • Rain gear with a hood
  • Extra pair of shoes, sneakers and mud boots
  • Bug spray
  • A blanket to sit on
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat for shade
  • Plastic container or two for water
  • Plastic bags for trash
  • Flag or balloon to identify your site
  • Ear plugs
  • A camera
  • Small camping chairs will be permitted in the concert area, but coolers are not.

If you are camping:

In addition to a tent, tarp, chairs and food, the following items are recommended and will make your weekend more enjoyable

  • Extra toilet paper
  • A flashlight
  • Extra trash bags
  • Portable radio
  • Small luggage lock for your tent and no valuables (promoter not responsible for lost or stolen items).
  • Coolers and food from outside the festival are only allowed in the campgrounds.
  • Small propane cook stoves will be permitted only in approved areas (Picnic Points) within the campgrounds. Charcoal grills and open fires are not permitted.

What not to Bring

  • NO Paint of any kind including paint markers and spray paint
  • NO Fireworks
  • NO Illegal Substances
  • NO Open Fires
  • NO Vending without permit allowed
  • NO Bicycles, scooters, go carts, or ATVs

  • NO Pets, leave your pets at home
  • NO Coolers allowed in concert area
  • NO Box trucks
  • NO Generators unless part of RV
  • NO Gasoline unless you have onboard generator
  • NO Kegs

Zero Tolerance for Illegal Activities

The use of illegal drugs is not permitted. Anyone using illegal drugs will be subject to removal from the event and will not be allowed back in.

Cell Phone Service

Due to the amount of attendees at CounterPoint, there is limited cellular phone service and phones may become unreliable once on-site…please plan accordingly.

Vehicle Passes

All vehicles at CounterPoint are required to have a parking pass. Please see our Tickets page to see all options and choose the one that best fits your needs!


A Limited number of Recreational Vehicles (RV’s) will be allowed on-site. Please note that RV parking is not located with general camping.

You must purchase an RV pass to be guaranteed a space for your RV. There are no hookups; this RV pass just guarantees you enough space for your RV to be parked. If you have a companion vehicle you must purchase a parking pass for that vehicle and walk your items in.

Be sure to purchase these passes in advance, as we have a limited amount and can not guarantee they will be available at the gate.

Official CounterPoint Merchandise (Shirts, Hoodies, Hats, Glasses, Lighters, Water Bottles, Posters and more) will be sold on site and will be well marked on our event map. In addition to the merch booth, various craft vendors will be prevalent throughout the weekend.

We will have a general store in the campgrounds stocked with all the things you might’ve forgotten (or left) at home and a few other essentials.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated may be the most important element of having a good time at a festival! It will be hot and you will be dancing, which means you will sweat and lose water. For this reason, it is important that you drink water regularly throughout the day. In addition to the bottled water that will be available at various bars. Free water will also be located throughout the site. Any bottle or empty container may be filled up at these locations.

Stay hydrated and make sure your friends do too to ensure the best possible time at CounterPoint!

Bars and Alcohol

There will be bars at each stage and throughout the festival grounds that serve a variety of alcoholic beverages.

*You must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID in order to consume alcohol.

Volunteer at CounterPoint

Interested in trading some hard work for an experience you’ll never forget?? Of course you are! If you’re looking to be a part of CounterPoint 2014, then here’s your chance. We’re searching for a few good volunteers to work before, during and after the festival. If you’re responsible, friendly, and willing to be a team player, joining the CounterPoint Team as a volunteer is for you!

Please be aware: all volunteers are required to work up to 16 hours (pre-show & post-show shifts are available). There is a $15 non-refundable processing fee to apply. Once you are accepted, a $185 deposit is then required to secure your spot (and to ensure you show up to work!). The entire deposit is completely refundable upon the completion of your assigned work – ipso facto, you get a FREE ticket to CounterPoint by working! Some potential departments you will be placed in are: Front Gate / Tollbooths, Clean up, Decor, Artist Hospitality, VIP, Info Team and more!

In addition to your festival pass, you will receive a t-shirt and camping at CounterPoint. Spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis, so don’t delay and sign up today!

Disability Access and Accommodations

CounterPoint wants everyone to enjoy the Festival experience. The access program includes accessible restrooms located throughout the event, accessible camping and parking, and viewing areas for fans with mobility limitations. Lost and Found / Info Booths

There will be numerous info booths located around the site. If you find any lost items or have lost any items (or people), this is the first and best place to check in with. Our trained staff will see to it that everyone’s needs are taken care of. All locations will be clearly marked on the event map.


CounterPoint is an outdoor festival and will take place rain or shine, so come prepared for hot days, the bright sun, cool nights and a chance of rain!

This year we’re making a commitment, along with our attendees, to keep the CounterPoint grounds looking beautiful through recycling and waste reduction programs.

It’s no secret here, the attendees (YOU!) will make this program a success. Please pay attention where recycling, compost and waste bins are placed. Also, be sure to collect the trash around your campsite and then bag it up at the end of the weekend.

General FAQ

When will set times be posted?

Set times will be posted on this website and on all of CounterPoint’s social media sites on the days leading up to the festival (LINEUP SUBJECT TO CHANGE).

Once I'm in can I leave and come back into CounterPoint?

All patrons with 3-day wristbands are allowed to come in and out of the festival site on foot. Note that you will be searched upon re-entry.

The only vehicles that are allowed to come in and out of the festival site are those with a day parking vehicle pass.

All other vehicles on the festival site need to stay parked in their designated space for the entire weekend. If you have an emergency and must leave the festival site early, please contact one of our camping staff to escort you out safely.

Can I volunteer at the event?

Yes, we have numerous volunteer opportunities. Please visit our volunteer page for more information on how to apply.

Is there day parking?

There is a limited allotment of “Day Parking Vehicle Passes” that allow you to park at Kingston Downs and come and go every day. Please note that there is no overnight parking in the day parking lots. Visit our Ticketing page for more info.

What is a "Car Camping Pass"?

A car camping pass allows your vehicle to park on the festival site in a designated car camping area and allows you to set your tent up right next to your vehicle. There is no vehicle re-entry allowed. Once your car is parked in its designated parking space, it may not leave until the end of the festival. If you have an emergency and must leave the festival grounds early, please contact one of our staff members to escort you out safely. Keep in mind your vehicle will not be allowed back into the car camping area.

Is Camping Included with my ticket purchase?

No, all CounterPoint patrons looking to camp on-site must purchase a 3-Day ticket + camping. If you only purchase a 3-Day ticket, you will not be allowed into the campgrounds. Please pay close attention during your purchase process!

Can we camp next to our friends?

There is no way to guarantee a camping spot next to your friends. Camping is based on a first come first serve basis; it all revolves around your arrival time and placement once through the entry procedures. If you would like to camp next to your friends please be sure to arrive at the same time, with the same type of ticket and vehicle pass.

Will tickets sell out?

CounterPoint is quickly becoming one of the most buzzed about festivals of the Spring. There is a large chance we will sell out this year due to our lineup and capacity. Lock down your spot at CP 14 by purchasing a ticket today! Remember to always beware of scalpers, both at the venue and online. The only way to assure the validity of your ticket is to purchase through our authorized ticket broker, Front Gate Tickets.

Will tickets be sold at the event?

If the festival does not sell out in advance there will be tickets available at our Box Office location for an increased rate. Always beware of scalpers both at the venue and online. What's the difference between 3-day GA and 3-day GA + Camping?

  • 3-Day GA is only a day pass that gives you access to the Kingston Downs Concert area, it does not give you access to the campgrounds or The Midway. This is for people who live in the area or choose to stay at an area hotel instead of camp on-site.
  • 3-day GA + Camping gives you access to the Kingston Downs Concert area, The Midway and the campgrounds. It is for those of you who are planning on stay with us all weekend long.

Am I allowed to Exit and Re-Enter the Kingston Downs Concert Venue?

Yes, however why would you ever want to leave us?! Unless the show is over, then we understand. Get your rest so you can be ready for the next day!

Am I allowed to Exit and RE-enter the CounterPoint Campgrounds to go to my car?

Yes, if you forgot something, need to charge your phone etc you are allowed to leave the campgrounds to go to your car in the stadium lot. However your car is NOT allowed to exit and reenter.


That is correct! Our ticket prices are a “all in”. There are no hidden charges, what you see is what you get.


No, if you buy your ticket from any secondary market (craigslist, stub hub, etc) CounterPoint can not guarantee the validity of the ticket.  Oftentimes the tickets available on these sites are counterfeit or already used.  Wristband removal, exchanging or tampering with will make them void.

Management reserves the right without the refund of any portion of the ticket purchase price, to refuse admission or to eject any person who fails to comply with the rules of the venue, local, state or federal law or whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly, or offensive by Management. Persons entering the facility are subject to search for contraband. Ticket user bears all risks of personal injury incidental to the event, whether occurring before, during or after the event. Ticket user bears all risks, including cancellation of the event and of inclement weather. The resale or attempted resale of the ticket is prohibited and if discovered will result in the ticket being voided without refund. The ticket may not be used for advertising promotion (including contests and sweepstakes), or other trade purposes without the express written consent of Management. Ticket user contests to Management’s use of their image or likeness incidental to any video display, transmission, or recording of the event.

Camping FAQ

I bought a Car Camping Pass, can my friends stay with me?

If they have purchased the proper festival 3-Day pass with camping access and can fit in your designated car camping area (10×30), then by all means! We recommend no more than 4 people per space, if you invite more friends than space allows they will be asked to go back to the tent camping area.

My friends and I are tent camping, can we camp next to each other?

Yes, however in order to do so you must arrive together and set up your tents together. You will not be allowed to hold space for friends arriving later.

My friends are camping in VIP, but I only have a GA camping pass. Can I still visit them?

No. Only VIP patrons are allowed in the VIP campgrounds. Your VIP friends can visit the GA camping areas though.

Will there be security in the campgrounds?

There will be an on-site security team at all times as well as first aid tents open around the clock.

I'm tent camping, will there be a place I can keep my valuables secure?

How do I charge my phone over the weekend?

Will we get searched?

Can I bring alcohol into the campgrounds?

  • You sure can! You’re allowed to bring your own personal beer, wine and liquor into the campgrounds as long as it’s for personal consumption and within reason.
  • What is ‘within reason’ you ask? 1 case of beer, a box of wine, or one liter of liquor per person.
  • No glass bottles or containers! We’d hate to take your booze from you, but we will.
  • You must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID in order to consume alcohol.

What if I get hungry or thirsty throughout the weekend? Will there be food and beverage options.

Yes! CounterPoint will play host to a wide variety of food and beverage options both in the campgrounds and inside the convert field.

Can I bring a grill or small stove for cooking?

  • Yes, you are allowed to bring small camping stoves, but no open flames of any kind (or gasoline) are allowed in the camping area.
  • Grills are only permitted to be used in the designated “Picnic Points” located throughout the campgrounds.

Can I bring sparklers, fireworks or Chinese lanterns?

Please do not light anything on fire while you’re at CounterPoint. Fire is dangerous! Didn’t your parents teach you anything?? Leave the pyro up to the professionals…plus, your vehicle will be searched upon entry and if you bring any of these items, they will be confiscated.

Can I give my camping pass to a friend?

No, tickets are non-transferrable. They will only work in conjunction with the name on the card that was used during the original purchase.
